YOUR HEALTH AND THE HEALTH OF YOUR CAT

I recently learned by practical experience that it really does make a difference which litter you use.  Last fall I had decided that I wanted to save some money so I switched to a cheaper litter.  The litter I switched to was made of clay.  I learned the hard way you never want to use clay litter.

I began wheezing and coughing and having difficulty breathing.  After two trips to the emergency room for breathing treatments, I decided to do some research on everything that I had changed in my house in the last few months.

I learned that clay litter brings out asthma in people who have never had it and can even go so far as to cause silicois of the lungs.  Why is this on the market if it can cause permanent harm to you and your cats?

So what should be done?  Avoid buying anything with Silica in!!!  I switched to a litter made out of corn.  It totally cleared up the problem for me and the cats.  The one I switched to is Arm and Hammer but there is another one that is supposed to be excellent as well, but is very expensive.  It is called "Worlds best litter."  The extra expense in the beginning would certainly be worth the expense to avoid having to use an inhaler and see a lung specialist.  Not only that, our pets don't have the option of an inhaler.
